EDUCATION
Education is an integral part of physiotherapy treatment covering such topics as the healing process, related anatomy, and biomechanics.
It also includes home and workplace ergonomics, pain management, fitness, and body awareness in a supervised setting.
Excercise Prescription
Following the physiotherapy assessment , an individualized exercise program is prescribed. This will properly address the flexibility, strength, and endurance requirements of each client.
Joint awareness (proprioception), coordination, joint stability and gait re-education may also be components of this exercise program.
Heat and Cold includes whirlpool baths. hot packs, hot
wax,contrast baths and ice packs.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture, which involves the insertion of needles into specific points on the body is a safe and effective method of treatment to help facilitate the healing process and relieve pain.
Nutritional Counselling
Our registered dietician provides counselling for healthy eating, healthy weight management, heart health, bowel health, and sports nutrition.
Laser
Low level laser therapy is used to help improve the healing process and eliminate pain.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound uses sound waves to cause a vibration of local tissues and help reduce inflammation to improve healing.
Electrotherapy
Currents of different frequencies are used to reduce pain and improve the healing process.
Custom Orthotics
Custom Orthotics specifically designed for your feet following a physiotherapy assessment and computerized gait scan. Most insurance companies require a doctor’s prescription for reimbursement. Please check with your insurance provider for their specific requirements.
